The adult Sunday School class lead by Michael Huston meets from 8:30am to 9:30am on Sunday mornings.  The class uses the Cokesbury Adult Bible Study series which covers related sections from the entirety of the Old and New Testaments over a three-year liturgical cycle.  Adults of ages from 16 to 116 are welcome to join in our study and fellowship.  Michael has taught young adult and multi-age adult Sunday School classes for more years than not, beginning in 1987.  He is a graduate of United Methodist-affiliated Otterbein University with a B.S. in Chemistry and Physics.  He also has a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.  Michael is a Senior Fellow at the Lubrizol Corporation, but Sunday School class members will tell you that teaching is his passion.

Michael is also our current Administrative Council Chairperson.  Simply put, the Administrative Council is the governing committee of committee chairpersons and church leaders that sets the strategy, local church policies, and budget for the Painesville United Methodist Church.  The Administrative Council meets quarterly, and all persons are welcome to attend to observe decisions being prayerfully made by the leadership to enable the ministry and outreach of PUMC.  Michael and his wife, Lisa, joined Painesville UMC in 2018 after having worshiped and served in leadership roles in many United Methodist churches in both the West and East Ohio Annual Conferences.
