Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir includes vocalists with ranges of 1st and 2nd soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass.  The Chancel Choir is composed of volunteers who love to sing and are generally available to practice on most Thursday evenings and typically perform on Sundays during our 10am worship service throughout the academic year.  While our Chancel Choir is not usually lined up for performances during the summer months, there are special holidays and events that come up throughout the year wherein the Choir or choral members may be asked to lend their voice.   Newcomers interested in joining may contact the church office for practice times and locations!  Conducted by Fritz Streiff and accompanied by Jerry Marshall.

Men’s Choir

Our Men’s Choir includes gentlemen who love to sing in tenor, baritone, and/or bass.  This group typically practices on Thursday evenings throughout the academic year and performs during our 8:30am and 10am Sunday worship services every 4-6 weeks.  The Men’s Choir may also be asked to perform at other special services or events throughout the year.  Newcomers interested in joining may contact the church office for practice times and locations!  Conducted by Fritz Streiff and accompanied by Jerry Marshall.

Collins Bells

Named after Hilbert & Willa Collins, music directors who began their PUMC careers with us in 1947, seasoned handbell players meet for practice on Thursday evenings throughout the academic year and perform during Sunday worship services every 4-6 weeks.  The Collins Bells group may be asked to perform at other special services or events throughout the year.  Newcomers interested in joining may contact the church office for practice times and locations!  Conducted by Mary Brown.

Ringing Angels

Our Children’s Church students have begun a new handbell ringing group. The students are learning how to read handbell music and play the handbells with Ms. Vivian and Ms. Patty.  Children attend the beginning of the 10am worship service through children’s moments, then are excused to go to the children’s classroom for their usual Sunday School time. The children spend approximately 10 to 15 minutes working on their handbell skills. Performances will be held at periodic worship services throughout the school year. For more information, please contact Margie Walker at the church office.

Carol’s Bells

Carol’s Bells is named after Mrs. Carol Ford. Mrs. Ford joined PUMC in 1970 and directed several music groups here at the church for 52 years. Mrs. Ford retired in 2022. To honor the legacy of recently deceased 52-year PUMC musician Carol Ford, our former “Youth Bells” group was renamed “Carol’s Bells” and carries on today for beginners and advanced handbell ringers.  Anyone 10 and up can participate in Carol’s Bells!  This group practices on Sundays from 11:15am to 12pm in the Mrs. Carol Ford Bell Room.  Performances will be scheduled periodically during worship services throughout the school year.  For more information, please contact Margie at the church office.
