Rev. Edgar Brady comes to us as lead pastor after his recent tenure as superintendent of the Central Valley District. He was appointed to the Cabinet by Bishop Tracy S. Malone in 2019. Prior to joining the cabinet, Rev. Brady served for 11 years as lead pastor of Twinsburg Faith United Methodist Church.
Rev. Brady began his ministry serving four years in Tennessee before transferring in 1989 to the Kentucky Conference. While serving in the Kentucky Conference, he was active in Conference and Jurisdiction leadership, twice being elected a delegate to Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference (1996, 2000). Rev. Brady transferred to the East Ohio Conference in July 2001 and was appointed pastor of Mt. Pleasant UMC in Cleveland, where he served until his appointment to Twinsburg Faith in 2008.
When we asked about his educational background, Rev. Brady told us he almost went to law school – until he felt the call to study theology instead! Rev. Brady earned his Masters of Divinity from Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree from Mississippi Valley State University.
Edgar and Bertha Brady celebrated their 45th anniversary in 2025! He and his wife are the proud parents of two adult children and say their two grandsons are “the joy of our lives.” In his spare time, Rev. Brady enjoys reading biographies and historic texts, keeping up with top sports teams, and increasing his step count each day through walking! We are pleased to welcome Rev. Edgar and Berthy Brady to ministry here at the Painesville United Methodist Church!
